How to Use the Oklahoma Child Support Calculator
Enter what you know and press Calculate Estimate. The calculator follows 43 O.S. 118A-118I and 119 and the steps of the Oklahoma Human Services Child Support Computation form (03EN025E). We checked its results against the official OKDHS Excel calculator.
- Enter each parent's gross monthly income from all sources as Parent A and Parent B.
- Choose the number of children and the parent the children live with most of the time.
- Enter the overnights a year the children spend with the other parent. The parenting time adjustment starts at 121.
- Add monthly work-related child care and the children's health insurance premium, and say which parent pays them.
Your numbers are sent with the form, not placed in the page address, and this site does not store them. This is a planning estimate. An Oklahoma court or the Office of Administrative Hearings decides the actual amount.
Oklahoma Child Support Laws and Changes for 2026
Looking for new child support laws in Oklahoma for 2026? The schedule in 43 O.S. 119 has not been replaced. The OKDHS computation form instructions (revised March 13, 2026) and the OKDHS Excel calculator both label it "effective June 6, 2000", and it still stops at $15,000 of combined monthly gross income.
Oklahoma reviews its guidelines every four years. OKDHS lists the 2026 quadrennial review, with the Senate Judiciary Committee as the reviewing body. News reports in May 2026 said OKDHS recommended raising the top of the schedule above $15,000 and that a bill could come in the 2027 legislative session. As of October 2026 we found no enacted change. This page will be updated if the law changes.
The cash medical income table used for children without health insurance was updated effective May 1, 2025, based on 300% of the January 2025 federal poverty guidelines.
A change in the guidelines does not automatically change an existing order. A parent generally has to ask for a modification.
How Oklahoma Calculates Child Support
Oklahoma uses an income shares model based on gross income. The Child Support Computation form works in sections:
- Lines 1-3: each parent's gross monthly income, minus the self-employment tax deduction, support alimony and marital debt paid, and credit for other children, gives the adjusted gross income (AGI).
- Line 4: each parent's percentage share of the combined AGI.
- Line 5: the base monthly obligation from the schedule for the combined AGI and number of children, split by percentage share.
- Lines 6-7: the parenting time adjustment, when the parent with less time has at least 121 overnights.
- Lines 8-15: child care, health insurance premiums and other agreed or ordered costs are divided by income share.
- Lines 16-25: the obligor's total, after SSA Title II or veterans benefits paid for the children, plus any cash medical support.
The guideline amount is presumed correct. A court can deviate only with specific findings that it would be unjust, inequitable, unreasonable or inappropriate, or not in the child's best interest (43 O.S. 118H).
The Oklahoma Schedule of Basic Child Support Obligations
The schedule in 43 O.S. 119 runs in $50 steps of combined monthly gross income from $600 to $15,000, for one to six or more children. The OKDHS calculator uses the line at or below the combined income. These are sample lines:
| Combined monthly gross income | One child | Two children | Three children |
|---|
| $1,000 | $206 | $272 | $298 |
| $2,000 | $366 | $531 | $626 |
| $3,000 | $505 | $733 | $864 |
| $4,000 | $580 | $837 | $982 |
| $5,000 | $654 | $943 | $1,105 |
| $6,000 | $732 | $1,054 | $1,234 |
| $8,000 | $905 | $1,303 | $1,526 |
| $10,000 | $1,097 | $1,537 | $1,807 |
| $12,000 | $1,251 | $1,741 | $2,049 |
| $15,000 | $1,372 | $1,961 | $2,305 |
Above $15,000 the amount for $15,000 is used and the court decides any additional amount (43 O.S. 119(B)). For more than six children the six-children column is used and the court decides any additional amount (43 O.S. 119(C)). The lowest lines are $50.
Note: the instructions PDF prints $1,898 for $11,300 and three children. The OKDHS Excel calculator and the neighbouring lines give $1,989, so this calculator uses $1,989.
The Parenting Time Adjustment (43 O.S. 118E)
When the parent with less time has at least 121 overnights a year, the base obligation is multiplied by a factor:
| Overnights of the parent with less time | Adjustment factor |
|---|
| Fewer than 121 | No adjustment |
| 121-131 | 2 |
| 132-143 | 1.75 |
| 144 or more (and 182/183 equal time) | 1.5 |
The adjusted amount is split by income share. Each parent's share is multiplied by the other parent's percentage of overnights, and the parent with the greater amount pays the difference. A parent with more than 205 overnights pays $0 under this step, and no one pays more than their line 5 share without the adjustment. With exactly equal time (182/183), the form uses a 50/50 split and the 1.5 factor.
An overnight means at least 12 hours in a parent's care with a reasonable spending on the child. The adjustment is presumptive and can be rebutted, and not using the overnights it is based on is a material change of circumstances.
Child Care, Health Insurance and Cash Medical Support
- Child care (lines 8-10): work and education-related child care is divided by income share. The parent who pays it gets credit for the part above their share.
- Health insurance premium (lines 11-13): only the premium for the children in the case is divided by income share. Insurance is "reasonable in cost" when the parent's share of the children's premium is no more than 5% of that parent's gross income.
- Ongoing medical and visitation transportation costs (lines 14-15): agreed or ordered fixed costs are also shared by income.
- Cash medical support (lines 19-23): for children without health insurance, $115 per child a month, divided by income share, if the obligor's income is above this table (300% of the 2025 federal poverty guidelines) and within the 5% limit:
| Children not covered | Obligor income above |
|---|
| 1 | $5,288 |
| 2 | $6,663 |
| 3 | $8,038 |
| 4 | $9,413 |
| 5 | $10,788 |
| 6 | $12,163 |
| 7 | $13,538 |
This calculator includes child care and the premium. It does not compute cash medical support.
Oklahoma Child Support Examples
In each example the children live mostly with Parent B. Amounts are monthly and come from this calculator, which matched the OKDHS Excel calculator for each case.
Example 1: One child
A earns $5,000 and B earns $3,000. The schedule line for $8,000 and one child is $905. A's 62.5% share is $565.63 a month.
Example 2: Two children with child care
A earns $6,000, B earns $4,000, and B pays $500 a month for child care. A's 60% share of the $1,537 base is $922.20, plus 60% of child care ($300). A pays $1,222.20 a month.
Example 3: Health insurance paid by the payer
Same as Example 1, but A pays a $200 premium for the child. A's share of the premium is $125, so A gets a $75 credit and pays $490.63 a month.
Example 4: 125 overnights
A earns $6,000 and B earns $4,000, with two children and 125 overnights with A. The base of $1,537 is doubled to $3,074. A's 60% share times B's 65.75% of time is $1,212.76, and B's 40% share times A's 34.25% of time is $421.10. A pays the difference, $791.66 a month.
Example 5: Equal time
A earns $7,000 and B earns $3,000, with one child and 182 overnights each way. The base of $1,097 times 1.5 is $1,645.50. A owes 70% x 50% = $575.93 and B owes 30% x 50% = $246.83. A pays $329.10 a month.
Example 6: Income above $15,000
A earns $20,000 and B earns $5,000, with three children. The $15,000 line ($2,305) is used, and A's 80% share is $1,844 a month. The court can add more.
These are illustrations produced from the statute and the OKDHS form, not court rulings.
What Counts as Income in Oklahoma
Gross income includes earned income (wages, salaries, tips, commissions, bonuses, severance and military pay), passive income (dividends, pensions, rent, interest, trust income, Social Security benefits of the parent, workers' compensation, unemployment and disability benefits, gifts, prizes, gambling and lottery winnings, royalties) and self-employment income minus ordinary and reasonable expenses. Fringe benefits that significantly reduce living costs, such as a company car or housing allowance, can count.
Excluded are child support received for other children, adoption assistance, TANF, SSI, SNAP and other public assistance, the child's own income and payments for foster care. A self-employed parent deducts 7.65% of self-employment income. Income can be imputed to a parent who is voluntarily unemployed or underemployed, for example at minimum wage for at least 25 hours a week.
What This Oklahoma Estimate Does Not Include
- The 7.65% self-employment tax deduction, support alimony and marital debt paid, and credit for other children (court-ordered support paid and the 75% in-home children deduction).
- SSA Title II or veterans disability benefits paid for the children.
- Ongoing medical costs, visitation transportation costs and cash medical support for children without insurance.
- Split custody, averaging parenting time across several children, other custodians, and any deviation by the court.
- The form takes one child care figure and one insurance figure, paid by one parent.

Frequently Asked Questions About Oklahoma Child Support
Is this the official Oklahoma child support calculator?
No. ChildSupportCalculator.xyz is an independent tool and is not affiliated with the State of Oklahoma, its courts or Oklahoma Human Services. It applies 43 O.S. 118A-119 and was checked against the OKDHS Excel calculator. A court sets the actual amount.
How is child support calculated in Oklahoma?
Both parents' adjusted gross incomes are added, the base obligation comes from the 43 O.S. 119 schedule, and it is split by income share. A parenting time adjustment may apply, and child care and health insurance premiums are divided by income share.
Are there new child support guidelines in Oklahoma in 2026?
As of October 2026 we found no enacted change. The schedule is still labelled effective June 6, 2000 and stops at $15,000. OKDHS has recommended raising that limit, and a bill could come in 2027. This page will be updated if the law changes.
Does Oklahoma use gross or net income?
Gross income. The computation form starts from gross monthly income from all sources and then subtracts specific deductions.
How many overnights change child support in Oklahoma?
The parenting time adjustment starts when the parent with less time has at least 121 overnights a year. The factor is 2 for 121-131, 1.75 for 132-143 and 1.5 for 144 or more.
Who pays child support with 50/50 custody in Oklahoma?
With 182/183 overnights, each parent's share of the base obligation times 1.5 is multiplied by 50%, and the parent with the greater amount, usually the higher earner, pays the difference.
What if our income is above $15,000 a month?
The amount for $15,000 is used, and the court decides any additional amount (43 O.S. 119(B)).
What is the minimum child support in Oklahoma?
The lowest lines of the schedule are $50 a month, which is split by income share. The court can also impute income to a parent who is voluntarily unemployed or underemployed.
How is health insurance handled in Oklahoma?
The premium for the children in the case is divided by income share. If no reasonable insurance is available, cash medical support of $115 per child a month may be ordered, depending on the obligor's income.
